MainGUILTY at the Heart of Paris Design Week 2025
MainGUILTY took centre stage at Paris Design Week 2025, participating in the 3rd edition of the MADE IN PORTUGAL naturally exhibition, organized by AICEP – Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency and curated by the acclaimed designer Nini Andrade Silva. The event ran from September 3rd to 9th at the iconic Galerie Joseph in the Marais district, bringing together over 74 Portuguese brands, showcasing the creativity, sophistication, and excellence of the Portuguese home industry.
Under the theme “Régénération”, the exhibition highlighted how Portuguese design reinvents tradition through a contemporary language, promoting sustainability, innovation, and cultural identity. Among the participating brands were Luísa Peixoto and Teresa Gonçalves Lobo in furniture and décor, the fine porcelain of Costa Nova and Vista Alegre, cutlery from Belo Inox, home textiles from Burel, and the iconic tiles of Viúva Lamego. The exhibition space was further enhanced by Bloom, a Portuguese floral design company responsible for the installation and styling of the space.
Curated by Nini Andrade Silva
The selection of pieces was overseen by Nini Andrade Silva, one of Portugal’s most internationally recognized designers. Born in Funchal, Nini is a cultural ambassador for Portugal and has been listed by Architectural Digest as one of the world’s most influential interior designers. Her work spans borders, from award-winning luxury hotels — including The Vine Hotel and Savoy Palace in Funchal, the Pestana CR7 Lifestyle Hotel, and Aquapura Douro Valley — to residential and cultural projects in cities such as Lisbon, Porto, London, New York, Miami, and Dubai.

Nini’s design language blends tradition with contemporary aesthetics, marked by a strong connection to Portuguese roots, expressive use of color, light, and materials, and a vision that intersects art, design, and culture. Her curation at Paris Design Week emphasized this vision: presenting the best of Portugal to the world, reinforcing the sophistication, identity, and boldness of Portuguese design.
Drapé Dining Table: One of the Highlights of the Exhibition
At the centre of international attention, MainGUILTY presented its latest creation — the Drapé Dining Table, designed by Creative Director Carlos Mello. Inspired by the lightness of fabric in motion, the table transforms flowing folds into a solid, sculptural form, merging illusion with materiality.
Crafted in walnut wood with an oil finish, the table is supported by cast iron legs with an aged gold finish, giving it both presence and elegance. The warm texture of the walnut combined with the sophistication of the metallic details results in a piece with a striking sculptural presence, celebrated by both the public and critics as one of the most memorable pieces of the exhibition.
In addition to the Drapé, MainGUILTY presented other pieces from its new collection, including the Break Console, as well as selections from the iconic Underpressure Collection, showcasing the brand’s diversity and innovative spirit to an international audience.
Portugal at the Forefront of International Design
With the participation of over 74 Portuguese brands, AICEP’s initiative highlighted the global relevance of the Portuguese home industry, promoting the quality, tradition, and innovative capacity of brands representing Portugal worldwide.
The overall response to Paris Design Week 2025 was overwhelmingly positive, with strong attendance from industry professionals, international press, and specialized audiences, recognizing the uniqueness of Portuguese design and its ability to engage with global trends while maintaining authenticity. For MainGUILTY, the feedback was particularly striking: the brand received acclaim for its bold and sculptural approach, solidifying its position as one of the most provocative and innovative voices in contemporary Portuguese design.

This presence in Paris was not only a moment of affirmation but also a strategic opportunity to establish new connections, open doors to international collaborations, and share MainGUILTY’s vision — a bold, expressive, and sustainable design capable of inspiring and transforming spaces in the heart of the City of Light.
